Our Top Tequilas

Long, warm Summer days invite you to swim a little longer and sip a little more. Whether you soak up the sun lakeside or poolside, a refreshing drink to enjoy while you cool down and relax is a must. At Blackberry Mountain, we offer a thoughtful selection of tequilas that our Beverage team loves to reach for, during Summer and beyond. We asked Blackberry Mountain's Beverage Manager, Logan Griffin, about the most popular tequilas at the Mountain.

When we consider two important factors – the interest of guests when they’re ordering and the knowledge and interests of the bartenders when they’re making recommendations – there are two tequilas that stand out as particularly popular at the Mountain: Fortaleza Blanco and Tequila Ocho Plata. Both of these tequilas are high-quality, distinctive in flavor and come from Jalisco, Mexico.

"Tequila Ocho’s farming and community pledge and philosophy is notable and stands out to the team," said Logan. "So, for taste and beyond, that’s one they enjoy recommending often." The Plata bottling showcases smells of peeled citrus and herbs with flavors of blistered peppers and grass. Fortaleza Blanco’s flavor profile includes citrus, cooked agave, vanilla, basil, olive and lime.

Not sure what to try? We also asked Logan what tequila is his favorite, how it can be best enjoyed and why he would recommend it to others!

“Fortaleza Reposado Tequila is my personal favorite,” said Logan. “It has such a balanced aroma and flavor. It has the ability to mix well into classic tequila drinks, such as a paloma or margarita, but has enough complexity and smoothness to be enjoyed on its own over ice.”
