Top Five Things for Kids at the Farm

Blackberry Farm is a getaway for all ages, but there’s something particularly magical about experiencing the Farm as a kid. There’s space to run free and enjoy nature, opportunities to tap into creativity and imagination, and adventures to liven up every day. We are sharing five of our favorite must-do activities for our younger guests. But the list doesn’t stop here! No matter what your age, we recommend bringing out your inner child to fully embrace fun on the Farm.

Swing on the Main House Lawn!
Our iconic tree swing makes for a beautiful scenic picture, but it’s even better when you use it! Suspended from the great tree of the Main House Lawn, enjoy an incredible view of the Great Smoky Mountains as you pump your legs and soar over the grass. Reach your toes into the sky and sway awhile. (And if you love the swing so much you wish you could bring it home – get your own Blackberry Farm Swing in our shop!)

Pet our Lagotto Romagnolo dogs!
Play time with pups makes any day fun, and our lagotto romagnolos will happily accept as many pets as you can give. Visit the Kennel to learn about this smart, sweet breed and meet the dogs that live at the Farm. Depending on when you’re there, you may even get to meet a new litter of puppies!

Go for a golf cart ride!

Grab your driver, pick your seat on the cart, and feel the refreshing Smoky Mountain air swirl around you as you explore the golf cart paths. At the Dairy Barn, wave hello to the chickens out pecking for snacks by the path, and take a quick stop to dip your hand into the cool water as you ride past Hesse Creek. You might see our donkeys, Sally and Daphne, roaming in a field or spot a hawk flying overhead.

Set out on horseback!
Just down the road from the Farm, our horses are saddled up and ready to show you around. Explore the land like never before, and let the horse’s steady walk lead you through sun-filled fields and over shaded mountain streams. With time to connect with a beautiful animal and the great outdoors, we love sending our guests out to the Stable for a ride. Click here to learn more about our horseback offerings.

End your day with s’mores!
The Blackberry team will provide the s’mores kit and light the fire, all you have to do is roast and enjoy. Settle in around the fire pit on the Main House Lawn and watch the stars blanket the sky. Let the flames soften your marshmallows just how you like them and smash it between your graham crackers for a quintessential – and delicious! – mountain treat.
