Meet the Blackberry Year Artist - Emily Brown

Emily Brown’s approach to art beautifully aligns with Blackberry Farm’s philosophy. Her unique mixed media pieces showcase layers and colors coming together in a thoughtful, lovely style. Emily is inspired by natural elements.

She uses botanicals to make her paint, bringing a truly genuine color scheme to her art. So, when it came time to create the art for the 2019 Blackberry Year, Emily explored the land and tuned in to the sights, smells, sounds, colors and energy that goes into everything on the Farm.

Anything that grows in the ground can naturally be used as a pigment.

She gathered flowers, leaves, stems and bulbs from the property and produced a farm-inspired color palette to capture the authenticity behind Blackberry Farm’s event programming and fully embrace the theme of cultivation.

The result is a beautifully hand-painted collection of pieces of the Farm through every season. The 2019 Blackberry Year reimagines farm-to-table as farm-to-canvas and sets the tone as we invite you to join us in cultivating a year of remarkable experiences.
