Burnt Orange Latte
Janene Hoffman, Beverage Manager of The Main House, shared the recipe for a seasonal Blackberry take on a latte. Grab your favorite espresso, prepare your latte and wrap your hands around a warm mug as you enjoy the Fall season.
Burnt Orange Latte
1 shot of espresso
1 oz. burnt orange simple syrup*
5 oz. steamed milk
Add the burnt orange simple syrup and steamed milk to the espresso. Stir to fully combine. Serve and enjoy in an Irish coffee mug (or your favorite at-home mug). If you like a little extra sweetness, top your latte with your favorite whipped cream. At the Main House, we top it with sorghum whipped cream and orange zest!
*Burnt Orange Simple Syrup
Broil the peels of two oranges in the oven. Muddle the broiled orange peels in 1 cup of boiling water. Let the peels steep for 20 min. Strain the liquid away from the peels, and add 2 cups of sugar to the resulting liquid. Add 2 cups boiling water and stir to fully dissolve the sugar. Store in the refrigerator to use as needed.
