Autumn Approaches
The sun begins to set earlier in the evening and the nights become cooler. Before we even notice the changing of colors and the leaves starting to fall from the trees, our senses tell us that late Summer has arrived. The beginning of the transition from Summer to Fall is subtle at first, but gradually the vivid greens of Summer begin to change into hues of golden earth tones.
The Autumn equinox happens on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, and marks the first official day of the Fall season. The word “equinox” is a Latin word meaning “equal night,” referring to the roughly twelve-hour day and twelve-hour night that occurs only on the two equinox days of the year – the start of Fall and the start of Spring.
This changing season marks the beginning of the harvest. Whether it’s a harvest of things planted in your garden or the harvest of efforts and intentions you set earlier in the year, we love to celebrate the turn of the season and the possibilities that lay ahead for Fall.
