We Didn’t Start the Fire

This creative cocktail from the Beverage team at Three Sisters is delicious to drink and so fun to behold! Served tableside, this recipe uses a foghat smoker to infuse a smoky flavor into the drink. When the smoker is lifted, the final touch is added for garnish, and you enjoy every delicious, smoky, complex sip, warming you from the inside out.

This recipe does require a bit more effort and supplies than some of the cocktails we share, but if you enjoy expanding your mixology knowledge and trying new things, you’ll love trying this one out!

Ingredients:
1 oz. Bristow Barrel Aged Reserve Gin
1 oz. Bloedlemoen Amber Gin
0.25 oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
3 dashes of chai dram*
Juniper berries
Dehydrated lemon peel
Foghat smoker with woodchips

To make:
Add the ingredients over a large ice cube in an old-fashioned glass and stir.

Add oak chips to the foghat smoker.

Position the fog hat smoker over your glass. Smoke the woodchips and three to four crushed juniper berries in the foghat smoker for 30 seconds.

Lift the foghat and add dehydrated lemon peel.

*To make the chai dram:
Our Beverage team creates a chai dram specially for this cocktail.

Lightly toast a half cup of chai black tea bags for a few minutes over medium heat. Then let cool. Once cooled, add the toasted tea to a mason jar, and top with 1 cup of overproof gin and 1 cup of dry gin. (We use Bristow 1 year aged and Song Cai Dry). Close the jar and shake the mixture once daily for a week.

Then, add the peels of one lemon, shake, and let sit for an additional four days to absorb the flavor. Strain the solution through coffee filters a few times to get nice clarity, and sweeten the remaining liquid with demerara syrup to taste. (Our team found that 3 oz. works great.)

Cheers!
