Ways to Use Blueberry Elderflower Honey Jam

To create Blackberry Farm’s Blueberry Elderflower Honey Jam, the Preservation team makes a syrup using honey, lemon juice and elderflowers gathered from around the Farm. They incorporate that syrup in blueberry jam creating a beautiful and unique mix and sweeten it using honey instead of sugar. The result is a jam that shows fresh Farm flavor.

Sound delicious? It is! Farmstead Director Dustin Busby has a few ideas for how to enjoy Blueberry Elderflower Honey Jam in traditional and unexpected ways.

Flavored yogurt – Make your own flavored yogurt by simply mixing in your jam. Top your yogurt with fresh berries, granola or nuts for a sweet and fueling breakfast or snack.

Cheesecake topping – Simple but so flavorful, top your favorite cheesecake with a dollop of Blueberry Elderflower Honey Jam to make each bite even better.

Glaze for duck – Cooking your protein with a glaze really adds incredible flavor. The sugars in the glaze caramelize on the meat, creating a great texture and sealing in moisture for tenderness. The flavors in Blueberry Elderflower Honey Jam are a great pairing for duck!

Cocktail/mocktail mixer – Grab your shaker, and get creative at your home bar! Use a vodka or gin base, and enhance the color and taste by mixing your jam into the drink. Add a fresh green garnish, like a mint leave or rosemary sprig, to pop against the rich color of the jam.

Blueberry elderflower pie – Give new life to your tried-and-true blueberry pie recipe by incorporating Blueberry Elderflower Honey Jam with the berries. Simply add it to the regular recipe as part of the filling, and enjoy how it enhances the taste.
