Wake Up Wellness

We all begin our day by waking up, whether you’re an early riser or you opt for sleeping in. Waking up is the first step on the path you get to customize to set the tone for your day. Some of us energize with a warm cup of coffee or tea, while others immediately get a workout in to start their day. Everyone’s morning routine looks a little different and should be customized to what you need and what activates your energy. Need inspiration for your morning rituals? Blackberry Wellness team members are sharing how they wake up and greet the day.

“I love sitting outside first thing in the morning and taking in some fresh air while enjoying the Mountain view. It breathes light and air into the new day ahead.”
Catolina Cerna-Aldridge, Spa Manager at Blackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain

“I love making myself an oat milk matcha latte, followed by my morning devotional sacred practice of Bhakti Sadhana. It begins with specific breathwork practices (Pranayama), mantra practice (Japa Mala) and meditation (Dhyanam), incorporating the eight limbs of yoga.”
Jaia McClure, Holistic and Energy Healer at Blackberry Mountain

“I start with a lemon ginger green tea in the morning and then do yoga and meditation. Some mornings I’ll add a bit of cardio in depending on my mood.”
Mebbie Jackson, Yoga and Sound Meditation Instructor at Blackberry Mountain

“I know the benefits of matcha in the mornings, but there is something about a morning coffee for me! I absolutely love my morning ritual of coffee and journaling to start the day.”
Meghan Henley, Wellness Manager at Blackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain

“There is no better way to start a morning than with some coffee. For me, it’s the ritual of making a nice pour over coffee. There’s nothing like filling a room with the aroma of fresh coffee to start the day.”
Kathy Rivard, Director of Spa & Wellness at Blackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain

When setting your morning routine, choose what brings you joy and comfort. Remember that each day is different and may be filled with new challenges, successes or experiences. If you experience a hard day, find peace in knowing that the end of one day brings forth a new, fresh day with a clean slate of possibilities and the comfort of your morning routine to welcome you.
