This is the Year to Start a Garden - Part 3 Garden Plan at a Glance

As Spring fades to Summer, you can begin replacing bolting plants with Summer varieties. Keep your garden plans from each year you plant so that you can rotate your crops and not have them in the same space year after year.

There are many possibilities for garden plans, perhaps as many as there are gardeners. For those who may be starting their first garden, consider starting with a simple, seasonal plan. Plan your garden according to the seasons: Spring, Summer and Fall.

Your Spring garden will be planted with lettuce, spinach, onions, swiss chard, cabbage, and any other cool-season crops.

For hotter weather in the Summer season, enjoying growing on my favorite plants, tomatoes! Your Summer garden can also include sweet potatoes, Summer squash, peppers and more. Just remember to check your local resources for what grows best in your climate.
