The Carriage Ride

Inspiration for this cocktail was drawn from a classic cocktail called the Sidecar. The Dogwood beverage team made a couple of changes to the traditional recipe to bring a hint of Autumn to the drink. They added a bit of Anjou pear for Fall flavor and gave the glass a sugar and cinnamon rim for a little extra seasonal spice.

Ingredients:
1 ¼ oz. Pierre Ferrand Cognac
½ oz. Cointreau
1 oz. Anjou Pear SS
.5 oz. Vanilla

To Make:
Combine cinnamon and sugar on a plate for your glass rim. Dip the rim of your glass in a shallow pool of simple syrup, or any liquid that will create a touch of stickiness on the rim. Then, dip the glass into your cinnamon sugar mix, getting a thin, even layer around the glass.

Shake all ingredients together and strain into your coupe glass with the cinnamon sugar rim.

Garnish with a thick orange peel, and enjoy. Cheers!
