The Campesino

The Campesino

The Campesino is The Dogwood at Blackberry Farm’s twist on a cosmopolitan, as well as a play on our very own Blackberry Bumpkin.

Compared to traditional cosmopolitans that are made with vodka and cranberry juice, the Campesino uses tequila and pomegranate liqueur. By making this substitution, the cocktail takes on a richer feel with deeper, spicier tones that are especially suited for the Fall and Wintertime.

The Campesino specifically features Corralejo Añejo tequila, which comes from one of the oldest distilleries in Mexico. Unlike the unaged Blanco tequilas, which are clear in color and popular for their applications in citrus-forward cocktails, Añejo tequilas are barrel aged for around one to three years. This gives them the signature amber hue and notes of vanilla and caramel typically associated with darker spirits like whiskey and brandy.

To enjoy this unique spin on a classic, follow the recipe below!
