Spring or Winter?

March 3, 2017
Spring or Winter?

Beginning in January, up to present (early march), that would have been a valid question. For some of January and most of February the weather was far more reminiscent of Spring than it was of Winter days that we would expect at that time of the year. From the fourth of February until the twentieth of the month, I spent time in Louisiana and saw days that were in the high seventies and low eighties.

Back home in Tennessee, there were a number of days when we felt like it was time to plant tomatoes and other hot season crops.

Now that we are in the month of March, it feels more like Winter, with cold biting winds. A day like today quickly reminds you that it is still winter and many days remain before we can begin to think about the planting of warm weather crops.

For the next number of weeks we will have to be content with a mixtrue of Winter and Spring days. Seventy five degrees today and snow the next?
