Spring Garlic and Winter Onions

March 3, 2017
Spring Garlic and Winter Onions

Our garlic and Winter onions are set out in October, and are ready for harvest by the following July. Individual garlic cloves are set out, which develop into garlic bulbs.

The Winter ounions are set out as single bulbs or sets. By late fall and early winter the bulbs begin to divide and send up new growth, which will remain somewhat stuneed during the winter months.

Now that March has arrived and our past number of weeks have been warm, the onions and garlic are putting out new growth, and are among the first signs of a new growing season beginning to come to life.
