Something New for the Fall

Something New for the Fall

This September marks the opening of the newest wine cellar at Blackberry Farm, simply called “The Tunnel.”

10 years ago when we designed The Barn wine cellar which was our first foray into an actual wine cellar, we did so with the intention of one day having it connect to the final building in the farmstead by an underground tunnel. There was even a special room built into The Barn wine cellar for this purpose.

The tunnel which is divided into two separate tunnels by an underground whiskey tasting room is lined with simple cement storage cubes that each hold up to 24 bottles. These cubes were designed by Sam Beall for use in his and Mary Celeste’s personal cellar when they built their home a number of years ago. The tunnel will house about 14,000 bottles of wine that we are moving from other cellars on property and will provide a unique passageway to the new events center, Bramble Hall.

We are excited to share this new space and cellar with all of you as we head into the Fall Season at Blackberry Farm.
