Set Your Intentions for Summer

It’s officially Summer! Sunday, June 20, 2021 is the Summer solstice, marking the true beginning of a new season full of energy and possibility. With the year halfway over, it’s the perfect time to recenter yourself, reflect on your 2021 journey so far, and set your intentions for the rest of the year.

The word “solstice” comes from the Latin words sol(sun) and stitium (still or stopped). In ancient times, the Summer solstice was used to organize calendars and determined when to plant and harvest crops. The June solstice occurs when the sun travels along its northernmost path in the sky, creating the longest day of the year.

Venture outside, and greet the solstice. Soak up the extra sunshine on this long day, and embrace the new beginnings each season change brings. Whether you set out on a hike, splash into the lake or simply take a quiet moment and a deep breath, these longer days mean more time for adventure and discovery. Make the most of them!
