Passing the Torch 2018
This year’s Passing the Torch event was made even more special with the announcement of our inaugural class of Sam Beall Fellows, a program created to honor Sam Beall’s commitment to giving people early in their hospitality and culinary arts careers the kinds of opportunities he had that forever shaped his vision for Blackberry Farm.
ANNOUNCING THE 2019 SAM BEALL FELLOWS

Beginning in 2019, the Fellows will work at some of the nation’s best restaurants and hotels, including the French Laundry, Meadowood, the Little Nell, Frasca, Restaurant Daniel, Eleven Madison Park and Union Square Hospitality Group, and they will begin or end their fellowships at Blackberry Farm or Blackberry Mountain. Fellows will experience immersive, hands-on learning and mentoring that will be a once-in-a-lifetime, career-shaping opportunity. It makes us proud, and we know it would make Sam smile.
