New Wellness Experiences
When imagining new ideas and experiences to share with guests, the Blackberry Mountain Wellness team makes sure that fostering a balanced connection among the physical, mental and spiritual self is at the heart of all encounters.
Wellness Supervisor Caitlin West spoke about the inspiration behind three new offerings added to the Mountain’s Wellness schedule and shared what guests can expect from them. From brand new classes to old favorites reimagined, learn about what makes each of these three offerings unique and exciting to explore during your escape to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Reiki-Infused Watercolor Meditation
Reiki is an incredibly gentle but powerful practice used to shift energy. In this new offering, our guests will have the opportunity to tap into reiki energy as they unlock their creative potential through painting with watercolors. The instructor will offer education on reiki, guided meditation, opportunities for exploration with color and energy and time for reflection.
Many of us here on the Wellness team are also artists and we know art to be a beautiful and powerful way to recognize and process emotion, as well as calm the mind and body. We developed this class to encourage our guests to find the same peace we do when creating.
This class is perfect for guests familiar with reiki as well as those who have never even heard of it!
Awakening Intuition Through the Breath
Awakening Intuition Through the Breath was a natural progression from the Breathwork and Awaken Intuition classes we offered last season. Breathwork and meditation go hand-in-hand, so rather than offering two separate experiences this season, we opted to combine them into one powerful practice.
Guests will explore how in just a few minutes, breathwork can change how both the body and mind feel. By taking control of the breath and directing it at will, we can unlock our potential to connect with our own intuition. Through this connection, we develop skills of awareness and discernment which lead us to engage with the world in a more authentic and enthusiastic manner.
This class is suitable for anyone, but most beneficial to those struggling with making a decision, feeling disconnected or unsure of their next “best steps.”
Balance the Chakras Meditation
We have opted to return this class to the schedule because we feel the chakras are an integral part of understanding the human experience. Chakras are energy centers in the body that are associated with physical, emotional and energetic attributes. In this class, we offer education around the chakra system, followed by a guided meditation to assist guests in discovering/locating their own energy centers, and finish with a gentle balancing of the chakras. This is a deeply restorative practice for mind and body, which will leave guests feeling relaxed and in alignment.
This is an especially great class to take as soon as possible upon arrival to the Mountain to clear out the stress of travel and shift to “vacation-mode.”
