New Farmstead Flavors
The past few months have been busy in the Larder. From sweet Vidalia onions to an assortment of garden peppers, we’ve gathered produce, at the peak of freshness, from around the area and a few Beall family recipes to bring you new flavors from our Farmstead.
Reserve Smoked Onion Jam
We have been working on this one for a long time to get just the right balance of sweetness and smoke. Finally, smoked onion jam has arrived! We start with sweet Georgia Vidalia onions, smoke them down to release their natural sweetness while still retaining that smokiness, add some white balsamic and benne seeds (similar to a sesame) and the result is an onion "jam" that you'll find multiple uses for.
Teensy’s Chocolate Nut Chunk Cookie Mix
Cameron Beall is making her mark on the world of good food! Sam's daughter created this special blend of milk chocolate chips, crunchy southern pecans and all the other yummies that go into a great cookie. We've taken her recipe and bagged it up for you to make in your own home! Gluten free.
Truly Southern Waffle Mix
Another contribution by Cameron Beall, Sam's daughter, is this truly southern waffle mix. She's taken a long-time breakfast favorite and put her own spin on it, using a combination of buckwheat and corn flours. Gluten free.
Reserve Hot Pepper Vinegar
Heirloom peppers combine with vinegar for a multi-purpose condiment that you must keep on hand in your pantry. Notice we say "hot." There is definitely some heat to this one.
