Nailing Down the Best of Fall
String your favorite Fall decorations with Camp Blackberry’s Fall Nail Art! This craft will bring pops of red, orange, yellow and green into your home to display your favorite Fall items all season long. This activity is best for ages 8 and up, with adult supervision, of course! It’s always helpful to have an extra set of hands for crafting and extra supplies. Because once your kids make one, they’ll want to make more!
Supplies:
Pencil
Wood Rounds
Box Nails*
Hammer*
Yarn
Scissors
Directions:
- Using a pencil, sketch your favorite Fall decorations and shapes, like pumpkins, leaves or sunflowers, onto a wood round.
- With an adult to help you, hammer box nails into the wood round, following the shape of your sketch. You can leave some space between the nails. They will act as pegs to hold your yarn in place once you add it.
- Take your yarn and begin wrapping it from one nail to another, connecting them in various directions which will begin filling the space in with color. This will bring your piece to life.
- Once you’ve wrapped yarn around every nail, tie off the yarn to hold your creation in place, and cut off any remaining excess with scissors.
*Please always have adult supervision and guidance when using handheld tools like hammers and sharp objects such as nails.
