Brianne Sidner and Greg Wilson from the Dogwood team created the Mountain Monk for their Spring menu. Brianne shared some insight into the inspiration behind this eye-catching cocktail.

“When creating this drink, I was really inspired to incorporate ingredients we don’t always use. Chartreuse is an incredible liqueur made by French monks. (No one person knows the entire recipe!) It is one of my personal favorite spirits. It is very herbaceous and truly nothing else like it exists.

Going into Spring, we are always looking to create fresh, light and visually striking drinks. Green chartreuse allows us to do that. Tequila cocktails are often unbalanced or have a strong tequila punch. Guests will find that this drink, while boozy, is incredibly complex and well balanced. Plus, it's a fun twist on a traditional cocktail called a Last Word. It’s perfect for these warming Spring days!”

Mix up a Mountain Monk, and enjoy bright Spring flavor in a glass. Cheers!
