Meet our adventure experts

May 31, 2013
July is Adventure Month on the farm. The weather is perfect for getting outdoors and, more specifically, getting into those cool mountain streams and lakes. Each morning during the month of July, we hit the water, the course or the trail to share a complimentary taste of some of our favorite adventures in the Smokies. From paddle boarding clinics to fly tying lessons to group hikes, Adventure Month focuses on the outdoor excursions that are perfectly suited for Summer in the Smoky Mountains!

Adventure experts ready for a summer full of memories!

Miranda Hill, Camp Coordinator

Miranda Hill started at Camp Blackberry as a counselor in 2006. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Development and serving a few seasons as our lead counselor, she became our Camp Coordinator— improving the program for parents and campers ever since. Miranda is also a member of our activities guide team that guides guests through outdoor adventures in the Smokies! Miranda’s favorite activity: “Paddle boarding because it’s a great way to see the Smokies and a great workout! A perfect way to get you ready for dinner!”

Joy Hopkins, Adventure Coordinator

Joy Hopkins started at Blackberry Farm in May 2008 as a horseback riding instructor and trail guide. Soon after, Joy moved to a coordinator position for Camp Blackberry. Joy currently serves as our Adventure Coordinator, where she is responsible for coordinating and guiding experiences such as hiking, cycling, paddling and our adventure series program. Joy’s favorite activity: “Mountain biking because it is fast, focused and fun!”

Thomas Krajewski, Director of Activities

Leading the charge, Thomas Krajewski is our outdoor adventure and activities guide expert. Starting out at Blackberry as a fly-fishing guide in 2002, he has been with Blackberry Farm for more than a decade. Thomas now leads our entire activities program, from outdoor adventure and sportsman activities to the spa and wellness programming. Thomas’s favorite activity: “Hiking into one of the high elevation streams in the Smokies to fish for wild trout.” July is Adventure Month on the farm.
