Makers Series BootHill Blades

Makers Series BootHill Blades

For the 2019 Blackberry Catalog, we're celebrating talented artisans and quality creations with a special Makers Series. Showcasing expert craftsmanship, quality product and a respect for the land, BootHill Blades and Blackberry Farm go hand-in-hand. BootHill Blades is taking fallen trees from the Farm and repurposing the wood into one-of-a-kind, handcrafted knives and kitchen tools.

Resourcefulness is undoubtedly one of the most valuable traits on any farm. Artisanal woodworkers and bladesmiths Jared and Kylee Thatcher, the Kentucky makers behind BootHill Blades, know this mentality well. The pair crafts knives, spoons and spreaders with an approach that wastes nothing and works relentlessly to elevate humble, traditional designs into remarkably artistic—yet still functional—kitchen tools. This resourceful spirit is reflected in their special edition Blackberry Farm wooden utensil series as well as their knife series. Handcrafted with hammered carbon steel and wood from storm-fallen trees on the Farm, the hand-forged knives are truly one of a kind. Designed in collaboration with our chefs, the limited-edition set infuses the determined, inspired sensibilities of traditional farm life into modern kitchen life.
