Light the Way for Fourth of July

Fireworks aren’t the only way to be festive this Fourth of July! Camp Blackberry is shining a light on fun crafts that are sure to keep the celebrations going all day long.

Supplies:
Red, white and blue cardstock paper
Ruler
Scissors
Star punch or star stickers
Pencil
Glue sticks or glue dots
Festive ribbon
Stapler
Decorative items like glitter, paint, markers and more

Directions:

1. Fold your cardstock in half, lengthwise. Then, take your ruler and draw lines from the fold, leaving an inch from the end of your line and the edge. Leave about .75 inches on each side.
2. Cut on the lines, stopping when the line ends, but do not go through to the edge.
3. Unfold your paper and then, with the folded bumps on the outside, turn inward and attach at the top and bottom.
4. Next, staple both the top and bottom of your lanterns where they meet to safely secure them closed.
5. Now, decorate your lantern with star stickers, glitter, ribbon and more.
6. Lastly, add a small strip of paper across the top of your lantern, allowing it to rainbow upwards. Loop festive ribbon through to proudly hang your paper lantern for all to see.
