Leisure Time on the Farm

Leisure Time on the Farm

Slowing down is something many of us forget about, but it is so vital to our well-being. Coming to Blackberry Farm is the perfect chance to take a step back from life’s fast-paced ways, and enjoy the subtle beauties of life. Here on the Farm we love to slow down by taking quiet morning strolls to the Boathouse or delighting in the soft songs of Mother Nature with a refreshing glass of iced tea in hand.

We want you to enjoy the incredible activity opportunities we offer here at the Farm, but your leisure time between scheduled activities can be just as fun. The Blackberry Farm team has some suggestions for their favorite way to spend a little down time on the Farm.

There’s nothing better than taking in the view of the Great Smoky Mountains from a rocking chair on the Main House lawn with a signature cocktail from the Dogwood Bar in my hands! This never fails to get my mind into a peaceful vacation mode. I love the innovation and local ties for all the ingredients in our cocktails, and the mountain view changes from season to season. It’s always like looking at it for the first time.

I would definitely sit on an Adirondack chair at the Boathouse with a glass on rosé!
– Savannah Johnson, Event Manager

I have two - I love to spend time sitting in the rocking chairs in the Yallarhammer pavilion. It is the perfect location on property. It is so peaceful hearing the stream beside you and looking out at the pasture and mountains. It is also pretty amazing when the fire is lit at night!

My other favorite time/place to be at Blackberry Farm is in the Summer, sitting out at the Boathouse in the Adirondack chairs at night and looking at the fireflies across the pond. Definitely one of my favorite memories on the Farm!

My day would be spent in the Garden. Sitting on the swing enjoying the different leafy treasures. Walking through the patches of herbs and smelling each one. I would spend some time sketching the flowers and vegetables. But, my most treasured memories from the day would be talking to the gardeners and trying to learn as much as I could from them.
