Story
Learn as you hike
I sometimes hike along with Field Guides but more often than not I have forgotten one or didn’t want the extra weight in my pack, so I may just snap a photo of a new discovery and look it up later (what did we ever do before Google?). Having a Field Guide right there with you can really allow you to evaluate and explore a new finding more completely. An accurate identification of the object can also provide a safety check as well for poisonous plants, animals, and fungi.
Once you have acquired this new knowledge and recognition of yet another small part of creation, it is so fun to share your findings with others. We can really learn so much from each other. Just like the web of life that is present in the forest ecosystem, we can connect to and affect all those we come into contact with. Sharing beauty is always a positive tug on that web.
