Late Summer Cocktails

From classic cocktails with a Blackberry spin to original recipes inspired by the Farm, The Barn and the Main House have been mixing up some tasty beverages this late Summer season. Whether you’re soaking up the last bits of sun with us or at home, you can do so with one of these delicious drinks in hand.

Late Summer Cocktails

Paper Plane (The Barn)
¾ oz. Blanton’s Bourbon
¾ oz. Aperol
¾ oz. Amaro Nonino
¾ oz. Lemon Juice

Add all ingredients into shaker tin with ice. Shake until cold, then strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a simple lemon twist expressed over top and then dropped in.

Late Summer Cocktails

Mai Tai (The Barn)
1 ½ oz. Plantation 3-Star Rum
¾ oz. Matchbook Triple Sec
¾ oz. Lime Juice
½ oz. Orgeat
½ oz. Myers’s Dark Rum

Add all ingredients except the dark Myers’s rum into a shaker tin. Shake until cold. Dump the drink and ice into a rocks glass. Gently pour the Myers’s dark on top to float. Get a large mint sprig, give it a little slap in your hands to express the essential oils and use to garnish.

Boundary Shrub (The Barn)
1 ½ oz. Magnolia Blossom Shrub
1 ½ oz. Cranberry Juice
¾ oz. Lemon and Lime Juices
½ oz. Simple Syrup
¾ oz. Water
1 oz. Orange Juice

Add all ingredients except the orange juice into a shaker tin. (Don’t forget to also add a sprig of rosemary to shake with.) Shake until cold and dump the drink and ice into a tall crystal/Collins glass. Gently pour the ounce of orange juice on top to float. Garnish with a 7 ½ inch (or appropriate length) stir stick and a flower.

Late Summer Cocktails

Veranda Spritzer (Main House)
1 oz. Blackberry Infused Stoll Vodka
½ oz. Lemon Juice
½ oz. Agave

Add all ingredients to a tin and shake with rosemary. In a red wine glass, put two blackberries and a sprig of rosemary and add ice. Strain vodka mixture into the wine glass. Top with cava.

Late Summer Cocktails

Georgia Peach Julep (Main House)
1 ½ oz. Maker's Mark Bourbon
1 ½ oz. Peach/Basil Simple Syrup
½ oz. Lemon Juice

Carefully crush a bar scoop of ice in a clean towel with a mallet. Put the crushed ice into a julep tin. Build your drink in the tin. Garnish with a peach sliver and a basil leaf.

Garden Pepper Margarita (Main House)
1 ½ oz. Infused Spicy Tequila
1 oz. Lime Juice
½ oz. Agave
½ oz. Matchbook Triple Sec

Add all ingredients to tin and shake with ice. Dump the entire shaker into a salt-rimmed rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Late Summer Cocktails

Coffee on the Rocks (Main House)
1 oz. Espresso
1 oz. Water
1 ½ oz. Cathead
1 oz. Vanilla Syrup
¼ oz. Cafe Lolita Coffee Liqueur
½ oz. Kahlua

Add all ingredients to a tin and add ice. Stir with ice until very cold, and roll into a tea glass. Drink should not come to the very top. Add whipped cream and three coffee beans.
