Keeping up the Cardio
Often times winter creates a feeling of retreat and hibernation. We simply do not want to get out in the cold, so we spend more time inside, possibly eating heartier foods and catching up on books or television, and usually wishing it was spring. Though they may seem comforting, these things are not necessarily the ones that will make us feel better. In reality, winter is the perfect opportunity to get ahead of the curve by building your fitness base. Whether it be a short run, a slow paced bike ride, or an uphill hike, remember that not every day is a dreary one. The key is to take advantage of the smaller opportunities so that once spring comes, your body is ready for the longer days and warmer weather.
