It’s All in the Details

A tablescape tells a story. Whether you’re gathered for a family dinner or a reunion with friends, there are always opportunities to connect around the table. The table you design sets the scene, and at Blackberry Farm we always take a few extra steps to perfect the little details.

We start by steaming each tablecloth to release the wrinkles. If you’re in a pinch, a plant mister with tepid water will do the trick. This gives us a smooth foundation to make a good impression. Our napkins are pressed and folded before being placed in the middle of each place setting. Remember that napkins are an easy way to change up the look of a table. You can do a classic fold, fan them into napkin rings, or if you're feeling creative, try some fun fabric folds. Layering your settings is an easy way to elevate the style. A charger can be positioned beneath the napkin, and you can even print a menu for the meal to set at each place and make it feel extra special.

Bringing the outdoors in to our tables is a beautiful way to add natural color and texture. Even when simple and small, the addition of floral and candles as a centerpiece elevates the table, the experience and provides an option for intimate lighting. Keep both the floral and the candles short enough, or spaced well enough apart, that your guests can see each other across the table.

Don't forget the glassware! We preset our tables with both water glasses and wine glasses, so each guest is set for the beverages they’ll enjoy with the meal. Taking a moment to ensure that each glass is free from water spots or markings is a great extra step for a polished finish.

No matter what type of gathering you’re preparing for, there are little, thoughtful details that bring a table together and show your guests the love you put into the occasion.
