Grilled Cheese with Blackberry Farm Smoked Onion Jam
Our smoky onion jam is the perfect spread for a sophisticated grilled cheese sandwich. We like to use Blackberry Farm Singing Brookor our new Little Ewe cheese.
Makes 2 sandwiches
- 4 slices good sandwich bread
- ¼ cup Blackberry Farm Smoked Onion Jam 4 ounces cheese of your choice
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
Spread ¼ cup of smoked onion jam onto two slices of bread and top with 2 ounces of cheese. Cover the cheese with the other slice of bread and spread ½
tablespoon of soft butter on the outside of the bread. Heat a cast iron or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place each sandwich, butter side down
onto the hot skillet surface. While that cooks, spread the rest of the butter on the other side of the bread. When the bottom is golden brown, flip the
sandwich over and cook the other side until the filling is heated through and the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
