Gregory’s Bald Hike in Full Bloom!
Our hike to Gregory’s Bald is currently in full bloom—literally! This hike is a rare opportunity to witness thousands of azaleas blooming in every hue that you can imagine. The top of Gregory’s Bald, a grassy meadow over 5,000 feet above sea level, is engulfed in blazing flame azaleas, earning it the name “Fire on the Mountain.”
Not only is the hike incredible for its flowers, but also for its impressive trees and breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains. The top of Gregory’s Bald has one of the best views of the vast domain of the Smokies, including views of Fontana Lake and Cades Cove. Enjoy your lunch while resting in the soft mountain grass before making the lazy descent back down to Forge Creek. This is a moderate 13-mile hike, so plan to spend most of the day on this beautiful adventure!
The prime time for these azaleas is now through July 8th—book your guided hike before they’re gone!
