Gingerbread Ornaments

Make your own ornaments and make your tree the yummiest!

Cream:
3.2 oz . shortening
2.4 oz . brown sugar

Add:
2.4oz . sorghum

Add, mixing until completely combined:

1.6 oz. AP flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. ground ginger
1 pinch cloves
1 pinch . salt

Add, mixing until the dough is smooth:

2.4 oz . cold water

Allow to rest for at least three hours, preferably overnight. Roll out to approximately ¼ inch thick. Cut desired shapes, and if needed punch a hole to hang cookies from tree. Bake at 325 until golden brown. Dry in 150 degree oven until hard. Decorate with royal icing or leave plain.
