Ginger Mint Lemonade
Serves 8
Using dried mint tea bags lets us bring mint to any and all seasons, but we love to add fresh mint when its growing in season.
Ingredients
16 oz. ginger mint syrup*
16 oz. lemon
16 oz. sparkling water or club soda
To Mix
Add all the ingredients to a pitcher with ice.
Pour your lemonade into glasses and top with lemon slices and/or fresh mint.
Note: This also looks great in a punch bowl for a garden party!
*Ginger Mint Syrup
Makes 16 oz.
16 oz. water
2 mint tea bags
2 cup sugar
¼ inch knob of ginger (peeled)
Optional 12 fresh mint leaves
Bring your water to a simmer. Remove from heat, and steep two tea bags for 5-7 minutes, or a little longer than the tea instructions.
Return the tea to the heat and add in the sugar, stirring until fully dissolved.
Take the syrup off of the heat, and add the syrup and ginger to a blender.
Blend and strain the syrup into a container and let cool.
When mint is in season, add leaves to the syrup as it cools for a gentle steep.
