Garden Month Planting

August 1, 2018
Garden Month Planting

In August we celebrate the Garden, enjoying the end-of-Summer abundance that the land provides us. The month is filled with walks through the rows, harvest-inspired Garden Dinners and fresh-from-the-vine tomato tastings.

It’s a great time to experience the wealth of flavors that grow in the Blackberry Farm garden, but it is also an important time to begin planting for Fall. The Blackberry Farm Garden team begins the thinking about the next season well in advance. They have to plan where they will plant as well as tend to the soil to set themselves up for optimal land for the next growing season.

August is a time of harvesting and enjoying everything from Summer, but it's also when we're getting ready for the Fall.

In addition to hosting guests for fun Garden Month activities, the Garden team will plant through the month of August for Fall harvest. Here’s a list of what we’re planting now and looking forward to for Fall. Join us, and get ready to enjoy the fruits – and vegetables! – of Fall.
