Garden Days at Camp Blackberry

Mondays are garden days at Camp Blackberry! The children and their counselors head out bright and early to the Garden where we spend the cool mornings talking with John Coykendall our Master Gardener. He teaches the children about all of the heirloom fruits and vegetables that are found here on our farm. They will then head out and help him in the fields digging potatoes, picking blackberries or whatever is in season. The children also talk about topics such as beekeeping, seed saving and composting. Garden day is a great way for kids to get involved and learn about sustainable practices that they can implement at home.
