Foothills Lake Life

We are constantly looking for exciting ways to share the beautiful outdoor world that surrounds Blackberry Farm. We are passionate about the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and the adventures that lie within their hills and valleys. We have long shared these “foothills” experiences with trails, fly rods, horses, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and a few other sundry adventures. These are adventures that are near and dear to us as well as the surrounding area. With nearly 32,000 acres of surface water in a backyard, our local lakes are yet another venue that we are excited to share with our guests. We are excited to have partnered with MasterCraft boats in a unique opportunity to share yet another exciting outdoor adventure!

Imagine a surf experience reminiscent of that of a wave off the coast, yet with a 360-degree view of the Appalachian Mountains. Combine that with the cool water of a lake fed by cool and clear mountain streams and a wave that is seemingly endless. We are excited to be working with MasterCraft and their pro-staff to be able to offer a unique wake surf program here in the foothills of East Tennessee. This exciting new offering is a family friendly activity for experienced water sport enthusiast or complete beginners. Our instruction-based programing is designed to teach the sport of wake surfing from the ground up. We have quickly fallen in love with the activity ourselves and look forward to sharing the feeling of getting up on the board and riding the endless waves. All of this while riding in a beautifully crafted MasterCraft boat built right here in our own backyard.

A relatively mellow mix of wake boarding and ocean surfing, wake surfing offers a low impact experience behind the boat. With the use of wide and remarkably stable boards, we are able to actually surf the wave created by the specially designed MasterCraft X46 watercraft. The low speeds of this activity also offer an experience with much less consequence than many of the watersports we are all familiar with. All of this and more combine to make this a truly enjoyable way to spend a day on the water.

Whether it be surfing the endless wave or simply cruising up the lake and taking in the scenery, we are excited to offer this new experience with our guests. Yet another way to share the spectacle and natural beauty of our foothills backyard!
