Fall Favorites
During October, the Smoky Mountains are ablaze with red, yellow, orange and gold! The fall season at Blackberry Farm is a favorite of many of our team members. Learn more about our team's fall favorites!
Sam Beall, Proprietor
Greens! Collards, kales and turnips
Brian Lee, Guest Relations Manager
One of my favorites about fall is that it is time for apples. We’ve always picked apples and dried them for using later in the season to make fried apple pies and stack cakes.
Kreis Beall, Founder and Director of Design
Chicken with 40 cloves of garlic cooked in a Le Creuset flame orange pot served with crusty French bread and Melville Pinot Noir
Favorite smell is dinner cooking and the fire burning
Favorite cocktail would be whisky neat. Sounds like a great cool evening!
Mary Celeste Beall, Proprietress
Turning off the A/C and sleeping with the windows open, crisp, cool temperatures in the morning and evening.
Piles of Pumpkins – definitely some giant ones in the mix, I especially love the deep, rich orange red Cinderellas, the gorgeous Blue Jarrahdales, and of course the Musquee de Provence.
Shannon Walker, Preservationist
Cool, crisp air, bright, blue skies and apples.
Josh Feathers, Corporate Chef
The smells of fall when the foliage begins changing and the first chimney fires when the weather begins to get cooler.
Joseph Lenn, Executive Chef of the Barn
My favorite smell of fall is a fire. It reminds me of camping and cooking over an open fire, which is what we will do for hammer nights during the weekends if October.
Andrew Noye, Beverage Manager
There is nothing that accents the amber hue of a great bourbon like the colors of the turning leaves. October is the time to sit outside in the cool early evening, have a glass of bourbon and smoke a great cigar.
Roy Milner, Brewery
The first days of Fall find me over a pot of chili…filling the house with warm and comforting scents of a long slow simmer. Add a light sweater and a goblet full of Oktoberfest beer on the patio…the perfect way to greet a new season.
Amanda Anderson, Wellness Director
Fall favorite- Pumpkin – everything pumpkin – pumpkin is full of vitamins and minerals which is beneficial for your circulatory, nervous and immune systems. Make sure to roast pumpkin seeds which are full of zinc, magnesium, heathy fats and fiber.
