Creative Presence

Creative Presence

The Wellhouse offers a variety of meditation practice opportunities to invite everyone to explore a journey into meditation that they can truly connect with. In Creative Presence, guests explore meditation paired with creative expression. Mindfully painting means being fully present with each stroke and color choice, finding freedom and joy in the creative process, while abandoning hesitation or concern for the finished piece.

“Simply observing or viewing art not only inspires us but can also be therapeutic,” says instructor Meghan Henley. “Taking it a step further to physically create art allows us to also express ourselves. The idea of art therapy is that self-expression is healing for most individuals.”

To enjoy creative presence, you must step away from the idea that you are “not creative”. This exercise gives you permission to explore creativity and expression with no expectations and no end goal. It’s an invitation to tune into your body, connect with your breath and find a calm space to experience something different.

The practice of active meditation introduces a new opportunity to discover meditation. If you simply don’t want to be still, incorporating a physical movement might allow you to connect with meditation where you felt like you couldn’t.

“The creative presence practice is not about producing art, the hope is simply to be more present!” says Wellness Lifestyle Manager Hope Parks.
