Create Your Own Fall Wreath
As seasons change and holidays come and go, the way we style our personal spaces often shifts to reflect the unique feel of different times of year. Experimenting with new décor is a great way to freshen up your space and make it your own – especially if you create it yourself!
Blackberry Farm’s Lead Floral Designer, Haifaa Tirey, shared a few tips on how to design a Fall wreath. Lean into your own creative instincts while keeping these tips in mind to craft a beautiful décor piece that captures the essence of the season.
Tip #1: Use Natural Elements
Incorporate natural materials like dried flowers, pinecones, acorns and leaves. These items not only reflect the season but also add a beautiful texture and rustic charm to the wreath.
Tip #2: Embrace Fall Colors
Opt for traditional Autumn shades like deep oranges, reds, yellows and browns. You can also consider mixing in some subtle purples, dark greens or gold accents to give the wreath more depth.
Tip #3: Find Inspiration in Nature
Take a walk in a local park or garden to see what’s naturally in bloom or falling during the season. Collect leaves, branches and other elements to help inspire your color and texture choices.
Tip #4: Add a Focal Point
Consider including a focal point, like a small pumpkin, a fabric bow or a cluster of berries. This can help the wreath stand out and give it a more polished look.
Tip #5: Use a Variety of Textures
Mixing materials like twigs, fabric, dried flowers and even faux berries can give the wreath more dimension and interest.
Tip #6: Keep Balance in Mind
While asymmetry can be appealing, maintaining balance in the overall shape and design will make the wreath look intentional and well-crafted.
