Cream or Sugar?

Cream or Sugar?

September 29 is National Coffee Day! We love to celebrate great food and drink in all forms, and that definitely includes enjoying a cup of coffee. So we asked members of the Blackberry Farm team, “How do you take your coffee?”

Brian Lee, General Manager – I like coffee in the mornings with whole milk, but I usually have ½ regular and ½ decaf to cutdown on the amount of caffeine I start my morning with. If I need an afternoon jolt I will have iced coffee with milk.

Kelley Harris, Director of Events – I LOVE coffee, but can’t really drink a lot of it. Therefore, I stick with hot green tea in the morning and hot chamomile at night. If I really need some coffee, I go for cold brew, as it is less acidic than traditional coffee.

Andy Chabot, Director of Food and Beverage – I'm very basic and straight forward – I take my coffee black.

Shelby Hightower, Director of Retail – I am definitely a coffee person! I am religious about French press with local honey and half and half.

Carla Hawkinson, Equestrian Manager – I MUST have coffee every morning. I like dark, rich coffee with one spoonful of raw brown sugar, plus cream. Add a blueberry scone on the side for perfection.

Elicia Hunt, Director of Human Resources – I take my coffee every morning in a ceramic mug with real half and half cream and raw sugar. I love the smell of freshly ground coffee. It’s my only routine in an unpredictable day.

Chef Cassidee Dabney, Executive Chef at The Barn at Blackberry Farm – Typically I like it cold and strong with a little bit of sweetener. I almost never have time to drink it all while it’s hot, so now I prefer to just start with it on ice.

Roy Milner, Chief Fermentation Officer – Ironically, I don’t drink coffee. When I do it tends to be after dinner in the form of an espresso. Occasionally, I will drink an iced coffee, but I’m not super into hot drinks.

Jeff Rabinowitz, Director of Lodging Operations – I like my coffee with Italian sweet cream creamer and no sugar.

Josh Feathers, Corporate Chef – I am a little weird with my coffee. I drink a half cup of regular coffee with a double shot of espresso and 2/3 tbsp of cultured butter.

Holly Tipton, Assistant Director of Sales – If I’m ordering from a coffee shop it’s a large hazelnut latte with two pumps of hazelnut and an extra shot of espresso. If I’m drinking regular drip coffee, I like it black.

Sarah Chabot, Marketing Director – I love lattes. If I’m drinking regular coffee I have to have cream and sugar.

Alex Quick, Activities Manager – I really only drink coffee in the cooler months or early mornings following a long day. So…I don’t always drink coffee, but when I do I drink it straight up and black.

Crystal Manning, Financial Systems Manager – I love hot chocolate with marshmallows or whipped cream! Or hot wassail (spiced apple cider). I am odd in that I don’t drink coffee or tea of any kind!

Sarah Loud, Concierge Supervisor – Any way it’s available! But preferably bold, light in color, and sweet!

Mario Adams, Guest Services – I take my coffee strong with cream – no sugar as I believe it inhibits the full flavor.

Chase Abbott, Purchasing & Receiving Coordinator – I drink it with 2 sugars/3 half-and-half. One cup a day, sometimes two when it’s cold.
