Our upper pasture has been planted and the new growth of soft bright green grass is emerging!
After a long cold winter, it is such a welcome sight. The horses, itching to be out of their rugs, are rolling and sunning on warm days.

With change comes growth. The days warm and become longer. The grass grows taller. The trees grow greener. With this change, our attention turns to a different type of growth—training—for both horse and rider. Our program at Blackberry Farm is deeply rooted in education for equines and their people. Our horses are carefully selected for their aptitude to learn and inclination to please. We constantly evaluate them, adjusting their training to encourage willingness and happiness in their work. We find that our guests appreciate those kinds of horses. And our horses appreciate the fact that our sophisticated and educated clientele enjoy learning too! Our rides always begin with “Horsemanship 101,” our way of making sure that riders and horses reach a mutual understanding regarding accepting the rider as leader. So important! We also offer instruction for intermediate and advanced riders on many facets of horsemanship—from jumping to carriage driving.

For riders seeking spiritual growth in association with horses, we recommend our Natural Horsemanship experience. Through guided one-on-one interaction, horse and human relate to one another in a deep and meaningful way. Everyone at Blackberry loves it! Come grow with us!
