Benton's Bacon Popcorn
School is out and family time is in session. Head to the drive-in movies or set up your own backyard theater for an evening of entertainment. Whatever you choose, we have the perfect popcorn recipe that you and your family can snack on.
Benton's Bacon Popcorn
Makes 20 cups
- 1 cup unpopped popcorn
- 1/3 cup Benton’s bacon fat
- ½ Tablespoon smoked sea salt
- ½ Tablespoon smoked peppercorns
- 2 slices Benton’s bacon, cooked and diced
Warm Benton’s bacon fat to 350ºF in a large, deep pot with a tight-fitting lid over medium heat. When Benton’s bacon fat is hot, add unpopped popcorn, cover pot and cook 1 minute. Vigorously slide pot back and forth over burner until popcorn begins to pop. Continue cooking and shaking pot until popping subsides, about 5 minutes. Remove pot from heat and transfer popcorn to large serving bowl.
Sprinkle with smoked sea salt and smoked peppercorns and toss to coat. Garnish with Benton’s bacon.
