A Tea for Nourishing
A warm cup of tea is delicious in any season. As Spring takes hold and warms the air around us, it’s a beautiful time to switch up your tea for the season. This month, Blackberry Mountain’s Holistic Health Specialist, Dr. Jill Beasley, is sharing a tea that supports a healthy natural state in your body, fills you with nutrients and supports allergy help with its antihistamine properties – a very timely tea for Spring!
Nettle Tea
Nettle (Urtica dioica) is a nutrient dense plant, rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium and silica. With its high chlorophyll content, nettle encourages a more alkaline state in the body. This nutritive herb also has anti-inflammatory properties and may help ease allergies through its antihistamine action.
In the wild, nettle is a stinging plant. But once dried and placed in water, the hairs are harmless and the plant serves as a mild and nourishing ally.
Ready to steep?
1 Tablespoon dried nettle leaf
Pour 8-12oz. hot water at approximately 180 degrees F, and steep 3-5 minutes.
