6 Fall-Inspired Cocktails

Whether it’s a hot cup of tea by the fireplace or an espresso martini at the dinner table, Autumn's most soothing moments can be made even cozier with a drink in hand. Warm spices and harvested ingredients are at the heart of Fall menus, and our seasonal cocktails at Blackberry Mountain promise an authentic taste of the season in every glass.

6 Fall-Inspired Cocktails

Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini (Three Sisters)

Ingredients:

  • 1 double shot of espresso
  • ¾ ounce pumpkin spice demerara syrup*
  • ½ ounce Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
  • 1 ½ ounces Belvedere Vodka
  • Three toasted pumpkin seeds, for garnish

To make:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin and whip. Shake hard for about 30 seconds to form a thick head. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with three toasted pumpkin seeds.

*For the pumpkin spice demerara syrup:

  • 4 Tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1 Tablespoon ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon clove
  • 2 cups turbinado sugar
  • 1 cup water

Add these ingredients together in a pot. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes/until ingredients are dissolved. Take away from heat. Grab a new pot, then add 2 ½ cups of demerara, 1 cup of pumpkin puree and ½ cup of simple syrup.

Barrel Bark (Firetower)

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces cinnamon and clove infused Michter's Single Barrel Rye*
  • ¾ ounce Dry Curacao
  • ½ ounce Licor 43
  • 3 dashes cocoa bitters
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish
  • Orange peel, for garnish

To make:
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until properly diluted. Strain into a Nick and Nora glass. Garnish with an orange peel wrapped around a cinnamon stick.

*For the cinnamon and clove infused Michter's Single Barrel Rye:

  • 1 bottle of Michter's Single Barrel Rye
  • 20 orange peels
  • 40 cloves
  • 3 pinches cinnamon bark (not the sticks)

Stab 20 orange peels with cloves (two cloves to each peel). Throw the rye in a Cambro with the orange peels. Strain the next day through a cheese cloth.

The Perfect Pearing (Three Sisters)

Ingredients:

  • ¾ ounce apple-pear cinnamon syrup*
  • 5 ounces lime juice
  • ½ ounce Calvados 3-yr
  • 1 ounce El Tesoro Reposado Tequila
  • Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

To make:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin, and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled Nick and Nora glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.

*For the apple-pear cinnamon syrup:

  • 1 pint sugar
  • 1 pint water
  • 1 large apple
  • 8-10 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 peeled pears

Add fruits and water in a medium-sized pot, and bring to a simmer until fruits are softened. Remove from heat and muddle fruits in water. Return to heat and add the rest of the ingredients, and make sure sugar dissolves (10-minute cook time). Cool and strain through a fine mesh strainer.

Apple-Achian Daiquiri (Firetower)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ ounces Diplomatico Planas Rum
  • 1 ounce apple cider
  • ¾ ounce Amaro Montenegro
  • ½ ounce lime juice
  • ¼ ounce demerara syrup
  • 1 dash blackstrap bitters
  • Spiced dehydrated apple slice, for garnish
  • Star anise, for garnish

To make:
Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice. Shake for 10 seconds. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a spiced dehydrated apple slice and star anise.

Smoky Mountain Rendezvous (Three Sisters)

Ingredients:

  • ½ ounce apple-pear cinnamon syrup*
  • ½ ounce Calvados
  • 2 ounces High West Rendezvous Rye
  • 5 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

To make:
Combine all ingredients in a rocks glass over a single king ice cube. Stir until the glass is cold to the touch (about 30 seconds or so). Cover with a Foghat Smoker filled with apple wood chips, and smoke.

*For the apple-pear cinnamon syrup:

  • 1 pint sugar
  • 1 pint water
  • 1 large apple
  • 8-10 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 peeled pears

Drops of Jupiter (Firetower)

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce housemade Jupiter Grape Cordial*
  • Rosé Champagne, to top
  • Frozen Jupiter grapes, for garnish
  • Expressed lemon peel, for garnish

To make:
Build in a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with frozen Jupiter grapes. Express a lemon peel over top and discard.

*For the housemade Jupiter Grape Cordial:

  • 1 quart organic Jupiter grapes
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup elderflowers
  • ½ cup Viognier wine
  • 1 Tablespoon citric acid

Combine grapes, sugar and elderflowers. Smash ingredients in a Cambro, then cover with plastic wrap. Keep refrigerated for three days. Strain through a cheese cloth. Add in Viognier and citric acid. Store in the refrigerator for up to a month.
