2026 Design Predictions
The month of January is accompanied by fresh energy and broadened perspectives, making it an ideal time to consider the tone you’d like to set for the year to come. As we continue embracing a peaceful transition into 2026, we asked three interior designers at Blackberry Farm Design to share what trends they expect to take center stage in the new year.
Read what they had to say below, and discover inspiration for reimagining your own personal spaces in 2026.
“For 2026, I’m most excited about the continued shift away from stark, all-white interiors toward spaces that feel warmer, richer and more layered. We’re seeing a renewed emphasis on natural and organic materials paired with saturated, earth-inspired hues such as warm browns, ochres, clay and soft olive that give rooms a sense of soul and longevity. This evolution of quiet luxury is less about restraint and more about comfort, patina and authenticity.”
– Josh Maniaci, Senior Interior Designer at Blackberry Farm Design
“I’m really enjoying the shift away from extreme simplicity and toward interiors that feel richer and more expressive. There’s a renewed appreciation for beautiful wood species, stones with real movement, deeper color palettes and art that really brings personality into a space. After so much restraint, it feels refreshing, and frankly overdue, to let materials, craftsmanship and personality take center stage again.”
– Michelle Wiegel, Senior Interior Designer at Blackberry Farm Design
“I'm not one to subscribe to trends, but I am excited by a return to color, pattern and layering. Moody palettes, interesting prints and richly layered rooms feel like a natural evolution as we continue to move away from white and grey. There's a renewed appreciation for architectural details that add depth and character — spaces that feel intentional rather than generic. Crafted elements, like handmade tiles, bring warmth and personality to a home, making it feel considered and personal. A home should feel crafted, not just built.”
– Lindsey Mcvey, Senior Interior Designer at Blackberry Farm Design
